Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is used to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one email, but to seem as being sent from another, often with the objective to fraud the recipient in some way. When SPF protection is activated for a domain name, a unique record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers globally get it. The record includes all of the e-mail servers that are allowed to send legitimate messages from an email address under the domain. When a message is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and when the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted receiver. When, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message won't be forwarded and it will be removed. In case you use this service, it'll stop third parties from sending spam messages which look as if they have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

You'll be able to enable the SPF protection option for your domain names with only a couple of clicks from the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all of our shared hosting plans. This carried out through the section bearing the same name and you are able to allow the protection for each and every domain part of our state-of-the-art cloud platform. Using a very simple interface, all you'll have to submit is the hostname of the mail server that will be approved to send messages from your email addresses and its IPv4 or IPv6 address. Last, but not least, you can include several servers too, when needed. When your e-mails are managed by us, you may also use a more risk-free option by setting a restriction that email messages can be sent only if your domains include our MX records. This solution can't be used in case your web site is hosted here, and the emails are with some third-party service provider. In either case, the SPF protection option can really increase your web safety and stop other people from counterfeiting your email addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that comes as standard with all our semi-dedicated hosting plans, offers you an exceptionally easy-to-use interface to enable the SPF protection service for any domain name that you host within your new account. A couple of clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia are enough for that and you will only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server which will be permitted to send out messages from your e-mail addresses. In case the e-mail messages are handled by us and not by a different provider, you will be able to boost the security level even more and take advantage of an option for your outgoing e-mails to be sent only if your domain names feature our MX records. This option provides you with increased control and it will eliminate any chance of someone counterfeiting your e-mail addresses with the objective of spamming and / or scamming people. It is not applicable if just your site is on our innovative cloud web hosting platform, while your e-mail addresses are managed by another provider. If you are not sure what features to choose, our tech support staff will assist you 24/7.
