Having full root-level access signifies that you will be able to access and update any file on a selected server, in addition to all system files, and to change system settings or set up server-side software that may be necessary for certain scripts and even offline apps in order to work properly. A server is accessed at the root level with a root user, which has full privileges to do all the aforementioned tasks. The root user can also generate other users. For safety reasons, you're advised to have a separate account for everyday tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to do some task on your website hosting server. The root-level access feature gives you full control of your server from any kind of location, provided that you know the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers

The VPS hosting plans which we offer are appropriate for different purposes, based on what you intend to set up and run on them and what experience you have. If your server features the cPanel or the DirectAdmin website hosting Control Panel, you will have full root access and will be able to control your online content using a graphical interface, while you may still install server-side applications which may be needed by your sites and even by offline apps, for instance VoIP software, media encoding software, various frameworks, etcetera. Without any Control Panel, you will also have full root-level access, but you will need to do everything using a console. If you choose to use our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel, there'll be certain root access limitations, but this configuration is the most convenient to manage. In this way, you'll be able to pick the virtual server package which you need.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

You'll have full root-level access to your dedicated server whatever the package you choose during the signup process, as long as the server is provided with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or with no web hosting Control Panel at all. In each of these 3 cases, you're able to change any part of the software environment in any way you find fit, that makes our server plans suitable for multi-media applications with specific requirements which can't be covered when you use a shared hosting account. The difference between these options is that with cPanel or DirectAdmin, you'll have a web-based graphical interface to take care of many different server-side options and also any web content that you create or upload, while when you order the server without a Control Panel, you will have to perform everything with a Secure Shell console or to install a Control Panel of your liking, provided that it's compatible with the Operating System which you've chosen during the registration process. With the third Control Panel option which you're able to choose on our order page - Hepsia, the root access is limited.
